도쿄블루스(Tokyo Blues)

뮤직드라마 도쿄블루스는 뮤직비디오가 확장된 개념의 컨텐츠 장르로서의 가치를 가지고있다. 기존의 뮤직비디오가 아티스트 중심적, 단편적인 반면 뮤직드라마는 음악을 관통하는 하나의 스토리를 바탕으로 하며, 연속성을 가진다. 또한, 음악보다 아티스트를 우선적으로 내세우는 현재의 컨텐츠 시장에서 음악이 주체인 뮤직컨텐츠를 만들고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다.

Music drama, Tokyo Blues, has a value as a contents genre with an extended concept of a music video. Unlike the currently existing music videos being artist-centered and fragmented, a music drama is based on a story within music and therefore has continuity. Also, in the current contents market where artists are put before the music, the goal is to create music contents with music as the main subject.

컨텐츠 제작은 크게 ‘영상’과 ‘음악’파트로 나뉘어 진행되었다. 영상파트는 컨텐츠 기획을 시작으로 시나리오와 콘티를 거쳐, 일러스트, 모션, 촬영, 보이스 액팅을 통한 편집이 이루어졌다. 그리고 음악파트는 시나리오에 맞춰 모든 곡이 작사, 작곡,편곡되었으며 녹음과 믹싱의 과정을 거쳐 완성되었다.

도쿄블루스는 백 여개의 일러스트 씬을 모션그래픽으로 옮겨 구성되었으며, 실사와 교차되어 이어진다. 일러스트 제작은 보다 사실적인 표현을 위해 도쿄 현장촬영 당시 실제 도쿄의 거리와 심야식당 내부 인테리어등에 대한 리서치를 거쳤고, 화면 내 소품들의 디테일을 연구하여 그림으로 재현했다.

Contents production was done divided into ‘video’ and ‘music’ parts. The video part started with contents planning, went through scenario and continuity, and edited through illustration, motion, shooting, and voice acting. For the music part, all the songs were written and arranged according to the scenario, and were completed through recording and mixing processes.

Tokyo blues was made with over a hundred illustration scenes transferred to motion graphics, and connects by crossing with real pictures. Illustration production, for a more realistic depiction, went through a research on the actual streets of Tokyo and the interior design of the late night diner at the time of on-set shooting, and studied the in-screen props to reproduce as drawings.

도쿄 실사촬영은 다섯 장소에서 진행되었다. 인트로에 등장하는 ‘나리타 공항’과 주인공 지효의 하교길이자 책갈피가 처음 등장한 장소인 요쓰야역의 ‘스가신사’, 정우의 심야식당이 있는 신주쿠역의 ‘추억의 거리’, 점장의 서점이 있었던 진보초역의 ‘고서점 거리’, 현재 점장의 빵집이 생긴 요요기코헨역의 ‘365빵집’까지. 모두 사전조사를 통해 캐릭터에 맞게 선택된 장소이다.

음악은 감독이 전하고자 하는 메세지를 담고있으며 상편의 <동경소녀>와 하편의 <도쿄블루스>는 공통적으로 ‘꿈’을 주제로한다. 꿈이란 단어는 추상적이고 욕심이란 단어로는 포괄할 수 없는 청춘의 뜨거움은, 한번쯤 뒤를 돌아보는 여유가 있어야만 다시 마주할 수 있음을 가사를 통해 전달하고, BGM은 각 씬마다의 감정선을 따라 가며 극의 몰입도를 높여주는 역할을 한다.

Tokyo real-picture shooting was done in five locations. ‘Narita Airport’ in the introduction; Otsuya Station’s ‘Suga Shrine’, the protagonist, Jihyo’s way back home as well as the place where the bookmark first appears; Shinjuku Station’s ‘Memory lane’ where there’s Jungwoo’s late night diner; Jimbocho Station’s ‘Old Bookstore Street’ where the manager’s bookstore used to be; and Yoyogi Cohen Station’s ‘365 Bakery’ where the current manager’s bakery is, were all chosen to suit the character, through a advance research.

The music carries the director’s message, and the first part and second part both deal ‘dream’ as main subject. The word ‘dream’ conveys the message that the passion of the youth, being abstract and impossible to be described with ‘greed’, can only be seen again with the self-confidence and composure of being able to reminisce; and the BGM takes on a role of following each scene’s emotional line and improving the play’s watchability.

누군가 말하길, 어른이 되는건 시시해지는 거라고 했다. 대학교 졸업반이 된 지효. 그 끝에서 그에게 남은 건 어린날의 그림자 뿐이었다. 찬란하게 빛나던 자신의 모습을 되찾기 위해, 그리고 고민의 결론을 내리기위해 어릴적 살던 도쿄의 한 동네 서점을 찾아간다.

The concerns and conclusions of the youth who longs for the lost younger days.
[Synopsis]
Someone once said, being an adult is being trivialized. Jihyo has become a College senior. At the end of it, the only thing she has left is the shadow of her younger days. To get back to the way she used to shine gloriously, and to end her concerns, she goes to a bookstore in Tokyo, where she used to live when she was younger.
[Characters]
1.Jihyo: A college senior who dreams to be a poet. The story teller and the protagonist of the play
2.Jeongwoo: The chef of the late night diner, who Jihyo meets in Tokyo, and shares the same concerns she has.
3.Manager: The poet who managed a bookstore 8 years ago and now is running a bakery, and the person Jihyo misses.
